Situated on the Atlantic coast of the Charente Maritime our centres in La Rochelle and on the Île de Ré welcome you all year round in conditions ideal for learning, tourist exploration and getting away from it all. Inlingua has developed and original method based on natural oral learning techniques allowing you to understand and speak the language much more quickly than when using traditional methods. This method has been proven the world over since 1968.
Our French classes for foreigners are organised all year round with a group for each level running every Monday in both our La Rochelle and Ile de Ré centres. inlingua La Rochelle offers options aimed at those who wish to rapidly use the French language. They allow our trainees to overcome their fear of speaking in public and to reach their personal and professional objectives. The use of role play allows you to employ the language in situations which are beneficial to you. Our trainers have access to a wide variety of resources which gives them a rich choice of activities to use during your training course.
Each week inlingua will offer 2 cultural or touristic activities at no extra charge. Each activity will be lead by a member of the inlingua team and will last about two and a half hours.The aim of the cultural activities is to permit the use of the French language in diverse situations, but also to discover the cultural and professional life of France in the past as well as the present. It is possible to combine our French classes with a stay in a Spa Resort on the Île de Ré or Cooking and Oenology classes in La Rochelle.
La Rochelle is the 6th most visited town in France as well as the largest Marina in Europe. Looking out over the ocean, La Rochelle is a town of history and culture linked to its important maritime trade. Coastline, marina and beaches are accessible in a just a few minutes on foot and allow you to relax and discover the magnificent scenery that makes our town an all-year-round attraction.

Junior programme
inlingua Junior courses are held on the Ile de Ré. This little island measures 30Km by 5km at its widest point. The island is joined to La Rochelle by a bridge, and is made up of 10 typical yet individual villages. The inlingua centre is in the capital, Saint Martin de Ré. Courses last for 15 hours per week, (10 hours for 10-13 year olds) in small groups with a maximum of 8 students, overseen by teachers who are specialists in teaching French as a foreign language.
Juniors Summer programme 13 - 15 years old
inlingua offers 13 - 15 year olds the unique opportunity to spend an unforgettable holiday with young French children of the same age. Main activities during the stay: - Swimming - Cycle trips to the salt marshes - Sand art - Games (cluedo, treasure hunts, orienteering) - Sailing (4 sessions on a catamaran) - Cruise round Fort Boyard (lasting a whole day) - Visit to a goat farm - Lighthouse visit - Visit to bird sanctuary - Collecting shellfish - Evening activities.

Juniors 16-17 year olds
Come and improve your French and have a go at a variety of sports, with young people from all over the world, in a totally unique environment. Accommodation is with families in and around Saint-Martin-de-Ré. It takes about 20 minutes by bike to get to the inlingua Centre from your host family. There are several options: French + Multi-activity French + Specific sports activities supervised by a qualified instructor, such as catamaran sailing, windsurfing, tennis and surfing.
